Citra is an up and coming Dj/Producer currently based in Manchester UK. Specialising in the sounds of liquid drum and bass, Citra is a fan of all soulful and experimental music. He is influenced by the likes of Burial, Flying Lotus and Brian Eno.
Relatively new to the scene, Citra was first introduced to the world of jungle and drum and bass by the legendary DJ, Mark McKinley aka Mark XTC who taught Citra for a few years at The Manchester College. He was immediately addicted to the raw, underground sound of drum and bass and never looked back.

Citra has a lot of love for many different forms of media and is currently working on a documentary called “Sleepless nights.” In this documentary he hopes to expose the grim reality that many homeless people face in the city of Manchester. He is a strong believer that the world could be a better place and cares deeply about issues such as inequality, racism and climate change.
BLUEFOOTJAI

UK
Bluefootjai is a 48yr old DJ who, like a vineyard owner, has cultivated and grown a serious collection of Drum & Bass since he started out in the early 90’s playing on London pirate radio stations, honing in on the LTJ Bukem sound which developed into what is now affectionately known as Liquid - Drum & Bass with soul and groove!
With the transition to Traktor and the ability to carry an entire record collection on a USB bringing a whole different level of creativity, in 2018 he started to start reconnecting with friends in the industry as a DJ and producer.
Now a resident at all Raucus DnB events and during lockdown he’s delivered mixes for Spearhead Records (Charlotte Haining album launch party), DJ MeditDnB show, Code Red Radio, Different Drumz and True Vision; whilst also having the most luxurious beard in the scene, things are looking positive in the production department with the release of his first EP on FX909 music, entitled Optimistic Outlook on 13th May and others in the pipeline.
Time to update your artists to follow list.
ECHO 1

UK
Jaz Ghalley aka Echo 1 started his drum and bass journey in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. At a young age, after an introduction to late eighties hip hop by his older brother, in the early nineties hardcore arrived and Echo 1 found his sound.
Tracks like 'Music' by LTJ Bukem and 'Darkage' by Solo were unlike anything that he heard before and sparked a lifelong passion for music. Eager to hear more, he tuned in to London-based pirate radio stations such as Rush, Pulse, Eruption and Dream FM. During the mid-nineties, Kiss FM started Wednesday night jungle shows. What was underground music was now being recognised mainstream, highlighting the full range of sounds developing in the drum and bass scene. Randall, LTJ Bukem and DJ Hype were amongst the DJ's on rotation and these shows were definitely influential in defining Echo 1's journey.
Forward to 1996 and a 16 year old Echo 1 went to his first drum and bass night. Logical Progression was playing at the Ministry of Sound and it was the first time he heard his idols play live. Soon after, he got his first set of turntables and the record collecting began.
The London rave scene took him to nights like Movement, Swerve, Fabric, Metalheadz and the legendary venue, 'The End'. Here he saw pioneering drum and bass, played by the most influential DJs and producers. The End hosted Renegade Hardware, Ram, Promised Land and other label-focused nights. Truly unforgettable moments.
His love of bedroom DJing led to a stint on LifeFm, a radio station run by the jungle/drum and bass promotor - Paul Roast.
Echo 1's influences come from wide spectrum of genres. From deep Detroit-style house, old school hardcore, early hip hop, jazz to orchestral music and film soundtracks and he is very open-minded musically.
His drum and bass influences stem from labels such as Creative Source, Good Looking, Metalheadz, Reinforced, Virus, Timeless, Moving Shadow, Renegade and artists including Total Science, LTJ Bukem, Peshay, Intense, Digital, Spirit, Marcus Intalex, A Sides, DJ Lee, Source Direct, Polar, Optical, Fierce and Trace.
2019 saw Echo 1 set up a small studio in his Hammersmith flat and inevitably start producing music. His intention - to explore all his years of influences and start creating the music he has always loved.
2021 sees his first release on FX909 MUSIC and later in the year, releases on Omni Music and Silent Force Recordings.

TEKNICAL

UK
Coming from Birmingham, England, Teknical was born into the Drum and Bass scene with his father being DJ Shape. Travelling with his younger brother up and down the country, Teknical found himself sat in various studios listening to Shapes sets every week. His father then bought him his first controller for his 13th birthday and within a few months he was playing his debut set B2B with Shape on 'DnbRadio'. 6 months later he had upgraded to playing live on the famous Technic 1210s. Now at the age of 18, he regularly plays back to back 'Father & Son' sets every week on 'Bloc2Bloc Entertainment' live video stream, and weekly on 'DnbRadio'. Teknical has also recorded podcasts for the underground clothing company 'More Superior Wear' aswell as various Charity sets and house party's, and even managed to drop a 30 minute drum and bass set at a wedding.
Having listened to dnb and DJ'd live for years, the musical itch grew stronger and Teknical soon found himself looking into making his own sounds. At the time, his other passion of training Muay Thai for over 10 years took up most of the families time, with Teknical himself reaching a top level, and helping pad and spar his younger brother to reach the same levels with both brothers fighting and beating English, European, and World Champions. Breaking his pelvis in a fight (which he still won) finally gave Teknical the time to sit down and put some time into producing. After getting some of his dubs played out by some big DJs over the past year, Teknical had his first official release on the well known 'Vandal Records'
With a lifetime of musical influences and a deep pedigree in dnb, Teknical has plenty of tunes in the works. With more collabs and future projects incoming this is just the beginning of the Journey for this passionate talented and humble young artist.
IMPRESSION

USA
Growing up in the peak of the South Florida rave wave of the mid 90's, Impression decided at his first rave that he would learn to DJ. With the guidance and influence of the Brothers of Funk, he quickly saw his dream become a reality. Impression partnered with MC Direct aka RudeBoyCraig and went on to co-found the Y.O.U. Crew, which led to many years of musical exploration and growth across a multitude of genres within electronica.
Impression soon established residencies at historic venues like Respectables Street Cafe, Tilt and Atlantis and has DJ'd alongside LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Roni Size, Blame, A-Sides, Ed Rush & Optical, John B, Goldie, Random Movement, Insiders, Bachelors of Science, PFM, Aphrodite, DJ Rap, etc.
On August 13th 2003, Eric was sitting at a traffic light in broad daylight when he was caught in the crossfire of a gang-related shooting. The stray bullet was lodged in Eric's neck, but thankfully a good samaritan called 911 and he was trauma hawked to the nearest hospital almost immediately.
Through continued collaboration with the Y.O.U. Crew, Impression & Markem formed Fusion and in 2008 they launched Urban Chemistry, a label that had been the dream child of Probable-Cause and Johnny Dangerously. Under Urban Chemistry, Fusion released tracks with DnB greats like Stunna, Submorphics, Command Strange, Subsonik, Mutt, Qumulus, Notion, Broken Drum, RudeBoyCraig and MC Fava.
In a whirlwind of events, Fusion also started their weekly Sunday Bassdrive show, Lab Sessions, in 2008. Markem moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and for several years the two took turns hosting their Bassdrive show until Markem left the show in 2014. In 2015 they decided not to continue with the label, but they do make music as individual artists to this day. Lab Sessions recently celebrated its Twelve Year Anniversary, and Impression has carried the torch to St. Augustine, Florida, America’s oldest city. Now in 2020 Impression has found his sound and is releasing tunes from FX909 Music, Soul Deep & Liquid Drops Recordings. So keep a look out for his smooth drum and bass releases, as he would say.
INSIDEMAN

UK
Somewhere near the intersection of liquid funk and atmospheric, you'll find the artist called Insideman. Firmly tethered to the techno and ambient textures of late-1990's deep drum-n-bass, but with an eye on breakbeat futurism, his sound is both a spectre from the past and a vision for what could be; breaking through as a DJ on London’s vibrant pirate radio scene in the late 90s, he quickly became a fixture in the club and warehouse rave scene in Southern England before establishing shows on Bassdrive and Point Blank FM. Those shows still thrive, a testament to his consumate skills as a selector. But more importantly, his own extensive catalogue of releases on labels like Vibration Records, Soul Deep Recordings, FX909 Music, Sub-Label and Deconstructed, transform his sets into extensions of his singular sonic vision, which continues to grow and evolve.
With two decades in warehouse raves and on the air, and over a decade as a prolific producer on labels like Vibration Records, FX909 Music and Soul Deep Recordings, Insideman continues to thrive as one of the more unique voices through which the world hears drum-n-bass music.
